Every month, our country experience at least 1 typhoon/storm signal. Last November 8, 2013, a powerful tropical cyclone that devastated Samar, Leyte and Tacloban. It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,201 people. Yolanda, also called Haiyan, is the strongest storm recorded at landfall, and unofficially the strongest typhoon ever recorded in terms of wind speed. As of January 2014, bodies were still being found.

This is a tragic time for our country. To see how our fellow Filipinos lose their houses, their basic needs, and most of all, their family. We saw how the our government, private organizations and other countries as well helped and ‘rescued’ them. Many donated money, clothes, food and housing. But what is their state right now after 4 months of the typhoon?

The pain that they had experienced, the trauma and the loss. Do you ever think they can truly move on from this? The donations they received are nothing if we don’t pray for them. I think this is the most important donation we can give.

The government should do their part by making Tacloban rise once again, and give life to all those who survived. We should still continue to help them get through their everyday lives.
