Don’t be a mere bystander. Speak up. Be an active believer. Believe that you can make a difference.

I hope that each and every one would throw away the notion that social activism is just a loose cannon that is not capable of bringing about holistic change. We have to always bear in mind this question: How can we as a society expect to make progress if social activism is disparaged? If we do not believe that social activism is important, we’re going to be a society trapped and entangled in the status quo. We have to expand ourselves in innumerable ways that will help the country to improve and develop. I strongly believe that we deserve a country free from the chains of backwardness, and it’s our job to make that country. We are here to enable the country to live more amply, with greater vision, and with hope and progress. We are here to enrich our country.

We have to find out what events are happening in the country. It’s important to know what is going on. But being aware is not enough. We have to show genuine concern by doing something. Let’s speak up and be heard. We have to stop wavering and being ambivalent and apathetic. We should not be afraid to actively enact change.

As for me, I do not want to just dream and wait for some miracles to happen, so I learn and speak up with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I do not want to waste the opportunity of contributing for a change.

If you see something, say something. If you see something, do something.

  1. I strongly agree with your point. Each and every one of us must learn to speak up, let our voices be heard especially regarding different issues involving our country, and be socially relevant.

  2. Very inspiring! That mindset is what we really need today. We should stop acting blind and deaf to what’s happening around us and take action now. Change should be concretized and not just kept as an aspiration.

  3. You highlighted the difference with being merely aware to being conscious with the issue. What is absent in being aware is the action to what you have been aware to. When your conscious, you have the drive in doing something that you have just been aware. Attending discussion groups and educational discussions are steps in being informed about the issues and being able to give your own dissenting opinions. Taking an action towards it is the next step.

  4. Your blog is very inspiring. You have a strong personality. How I wish all people could have the courage to be like you. To speak up and to make a difference in this world.

  5. Wildfires start from small sparks of fire. Let us be the light the world wants to see. 🙂 And we can do so by acknowleding realities, correcting our beliefs and by enacting change and enlightenment in a society driven by tradition and fanaticism.
